NDC ( NATIONAL DATA CENTER ) Pune as the name suggests the work of this IMD department is to secure, rescue, save, backup important data and make this data available to the world Digitally.

NDC as the name suggest is HQ for collection of all the major Data generated in IMD everyday at all the locations, the data here is SAVED and proper Backup is taken on regular basis and is processed in different system and models developed by IMD for Forecasting and Analysis.

NDC is a very important Department within IMD, all the concerned NDC officers have successfully worked and executed many projects in NDC and worked in coordination with WMO protocol they have visited various countries and have officially attended many international seminar and workshops on using modern techniques for processing data using high-end Computer System and technology.

Weather Forecasting Department ( WF ) in IMD is concerned with Analysed Weather Charts, where all the charts are manually marked minutely with everydays events and weather parameters, this Research and Scientific Data which is collected on Daily basis and recorded in various RC's and RMC's across the Country is collected and stored at NDC.

WF is a very important Department within IMD, all the concerned WF officers were having  very keen interest with Projects like Archival, Digitalization and Cataloging of Synoptic Events, this officers are Synopticians who use Analysed Weather Charts for day to day operations for Forecasting Predications and issuing Daily Bulletins.
