VALUE-ADDITION FACILITIES TO THE ALREADY EXISTING CHARTS IN THE ARCHIVES
Stage I : Tagging of Synoptic Events
1. The first Task would be thoroughly classifying each charts with the help of Retired
Experienced Personnel of IMD who would be monitoring the execution of Project
till the end
2. Other task involves review and classification of every chart with following tags :
- i. CALENDAR – DATE BASED TAGS;
- ii. CATEGORY BASED TAGS;
- iii. EVENT BASED TAGS;
- iv. IMPACTS BASED TAGS
- a) METEOROLOGICAL FEATURES;
- b) SIGNIFICANT WEATHER PATTERNS;
- c) POSITION OF MONSOON TROUGH;
- d) STRONG WESTERLIES;
- e) OFF-SHORE TROUGH, VORTEX FEATURES;
- f) LOW PRESSURE SYSTEMS;
- g) OCEANIC SYSTEMS;
- h) RAINFALL ZONES;
- i) UPPER-AIR CIRCULATIONS;
- j) PERSISTENCE OF EVENTS;
- k) JET STREAMS;
- l) HIGHS;, ETC.,
- IDENTIFY ZONES/REGIONS ETC
